The owner and agent, Edward Madzin, has over 27 years’ experience in the property, casualty and, life insurance arenas and previously operated a captive insurance agency. Edward’s track record as an insurance sales agent positions him well for success in the insurance business. Desiring to offer a broader depth of products to better serve customers’ needs, Madzin Insurance Group was created in South Scranton in 2018. The name was chosen because of the locally strong small business, family oriented, customer centric, and trustworthy history of the Madzin family. Madzin Insurance Group meets customer’s insurance needs at their home, place of business, or online. With the latest technology available, customers can utilize the latest apps to meet via zoom, setup reminders, make payments or view policies.

Edward and Kathleen Madzin, husband and wife team, bring a combined 27+ years’ experience to the business. Ed, a graduate of the University of Scranton, began his career at Penn Mutual as a life insurance agent, followed by the Bradley Group as an enroller selling Section 125 plans. After that he was with Combined Insurance as an agent, sales manager, and branch manager and then went to work for his family’s business, Madzin’s Market. Ed went back to his successful sales career and opened a MetLife Auto and Home captive office in 2005. Kathleen Hogan Madzin, a graduate of the University of Scranton, was a customer service manager at MetLife Auto & Home for over ten years. Prior to that she was self employed business owner and developer of The Banshee Irish Pub in Scranton and an educational counselor for the non-profit, federally funded program, Educational Opportunity Centers of PA.
Together, the couple has a vast network in the greater Scranton area, and realized that over time, as an independent insurance agency, they could provide a greater selection of offerings to their customers and better meet their needs.
